FREE in Austin giveaway rules
Every FREE Bee giveaway runs the same way. No purchase necessary, and a purchase will not increase your chances of winning.
The prize: a $50 gift card, put up by the Omelettry. One winner.
Entries open: Wednesday, October 7, 2026
Entries close: Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 11:59pm Central
Winner drawn and announced: Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in that week's FREE Bee.
Who can enter
Anyone 18 or older who lives in the United States.
Prizes usually come from an Austin business and are meant to be used in Austin. You are welcome to enter from anywhere in the country, and if you win something you cannot use yourself, pass it along to someone who can.
How to enter
Four ways, one entry each, four maximum per person.
- Be a subscriber to The FREE Bee at freeinaustin.substack.com when entries close. Subscribing is FREE, and FREE and paid subscribers have exactly the same chance of winning.
- Comment on the giveaway post on our Facebook page.
- Comment on the giveaway post on our Instagram.
- Send in a FREE Austin event tip or a photo through freeinaustin.com/submit, or by replying to the newsletter email.
You do not have to share, repost or tag anyone, and doing so will not earn you an extra entry. Following is welcome, but it is never required and it is never an entry.
How the winner is picked
After entries close, Myria draws one entry at random and contacts the winner by email or by replying to their comment. If the winner does not respond within five days, another entry gets drawn. Your odds depend on how many entries there are. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash, and the winner is responsible for any taxes.
Who is running this

The rest of the fine print
This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta, Facebook, Instagram or Substack. By entering you release those companies from any responsibility for it. Anything you submit goes to FREE in Austin, not to them. Void where prohibited.
FREE in Austin runs giveaways, never raffles. Entry is always FREE, which is what keeps it a sweepstakes rather than a raffle.
